    Modset Update 22/10/18

    After a longer testing period than usual, we have now decided on the new modset. This post will outline the new modset and explain some of the more significant changes.

    The changes are currently live on the second server, and they will go live on the first server on Monday the 22nd of October. We will make an announcement when we have updated the first server.

    FK - MODS
    First on the list is the introduction of a mod bundle upload named "FK - Mods". This mod is intended to help us cut down on the number of mods that need to be in the collection. We have gotten permission from the original authors of each mod in the bundle to re-upload their mod as part of this bundle. Besides containing re-uploads of other mods, this bundle will also include any mods explicitly created for FK.

    The mods that are currently included in the bundle are:

    • BackpackOnChest by Zade
    • RHS Extra Uniforms by wsxcgy
    • ASR AI3 by Robalo
    • fk_disable_patches by NeilZar

    The fk_disable_patches mod is a config to disable some questionable patches in one of the mods.

    FUTURE UPDATES
    The CM team is currently discussing a couple of changes with regards to not only the frequency of the modset updates but also the testing process itself. Some of you may have recently seen this thread pertaining to the process of testing mods and how it might be changed to allow for community members to help. We are certainly open to this and we're working on this to allow for more people to help with the testing process. Be forewarned that it won't be a completely open thing due to a couple of issues that we've noted in our initial pass on the idea. Expect more information at a later date as we develop it.

    Why is the Flanker being removed? It's the most up to date and functional Russian jet we have.

    it would be prudent to at least keep a 2 seater for REDFOR in the (admittedly kind of unlikely) event that someone does want to use a 2 seater REDFOR jet asset

    For ASR AI 3, who determines the AI settings? Is there a file that is loaded onto the server with their defaults and it cannot be changed, or is whoever is admin/zeus able to use their own cfg file for AI behavior and settings?

    would we be able to look into putting in a ear plug mod/acex earplugs which allow the player to reduce the noise of effects (Vic engines, gun fire, etc) by equipping them, making communication under fire or even just inside of a moving vehicle more effective.

    Ear plugs as an item, and hearing protection/muffling as a feature on ear plugs and helmets, are basic ACE. We just have that entire thing disabled as a server setting.

    What @ryan(a)means is that with AceX the earplugs add a toggleable effect where you can mute your general sound to 20% (self chosen value in settings). It is very handy for SL's etc. so you can mute sound (tanks,helo's,..) around you and actually hear people near you 😛

    Will we be getting the AOR stuff for Military Gear Pack as thats a seperate mod. Adds all the items from Military Gear Pack just with AOR1 & 2 camo's.

    Why is there like 500 variations of the same thing? its all American, with 3 mod-packs of nearly repeating gear.

    They all look operator as fuck (Some of the plate carriers are mental, especially with the back panels also and then the face wrap to tie it all together),

     

    Why so many just for one faction?
